Christie: Have any of you ever been to a doll meetup?
I never had, but last weekend I got to go to one.
It was mostly for something called "BJDs"
So I got to meet a few new dolls!
These guys were pretty cool customers, but they were nice enough to let me hang out with them.
Next there was this little one... we... uh... didn't really hit it off:
There was also this funky little troll:
I think he liked me!
There was a girl riding an elephant (although when I asked for a ride she said no... so I am just going to focus on the elephant -_- )
And finally, I wasn't able to talk to them, because they were in a glass case,
but there were some old relatives hanging about :)
You know Christie, I've never been to a doll meetup. On May will be the Italian Doll Convention in Milan and I want to go so bad and meeting all the awesome italian dolly people I met only online. Every single member of my family don't allow this. Hope everything gonna be ok
ReplyDeleteChristie: Just tell them you are going to a conference that is business related, hehehehe! I usually don't condone it, but sometimes you have to fib a little ;)
DeleteLooks like you had a fantatsic time Christie!! I love the doll on the elephant and your dress is gorgeous!! Hugs Vicky xx
ReplyDeleteChristie: Yes, that elephant was really cute... I really wanted to ride him :(
DeleteAnd my dress is quite lovely! It's a Fashion Fever, back when Mattel gave Barbies good clothes *weep*... I'll be making a post about the dress on Sunday :)
My Daughter loves those ball jointed dolls. She only has one though I hope to buy her another one day. I will have to show her your blog.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, you're a pretty awesome mom for encouraging her XD
DeleteThis particular blog is mostly Barbie stuff... I have another blog, http://majokkoshop.blogspot.com where more BJD related stuff will show up (I have Dollfie Dream girls, a Lati Yellow, a Real Puki and a Volks SDGR Boy that make appearances on that blog :) )
Oh, how I'd love to go to a doll meet up! Looks like you had fun and met a lot of interesting dolls :)
ReplyDeleteYou should! I'm sure they have them around you, especially bjd meetups! BJD folk are always meeting up XD
DeleteSounds like you had a good time. That second picture is awesome! Hope you get to meet some new dolly friends soon.
ReplyDeleteChristie: It was lovely... BJDs are so big (for the most part)... and the boys are *SO* handsome! *swoon*
DeletePS, the second pic is my favorite :)
DeleteThe BJD are HUGE. The guy with the one eyed goggle is spectactular.
ReplyDeleteOh yes they are! "SD" sized BJD are 1/3 scale, "MSD" sized BJD are 1/4 scale... those are the sizes of my Dollfie Dream that I'll post on the other blog. I love these bigger dolls quite a lot, but a huge reason I love the Neemos and Barbies is how portable they are XD
DeleteI've never been to a dolly meetup, but it sounds like you had a great time. I don't collect BJDs, but your pics are awesome. I love the last pic of the vintage Barbies! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, the girl who hosts the meet collects many types of dolls, and she's got a whole cabinet full of vintage Barbie, they're all beautiful 0_0
DeleteBJD are a very expensive hobby, LOL, Barbie is much safer, if you can believe it, hehe!
I love BJDs, they sometimes look very sad but so sweet! I have never seen one with my own eyes, you're very lucky!
ReplyDeleteThey are very large, impressive, beautiful dolls :) They are also really expensive, lol. Barbie are much safer for the wallet XD
