Hey... where the heck is Christie?!

Uhm... has anyone seen Christie lately?

Christie: Oh! Oh sorry guys!! I was out getting my Fall makeover.
What do you think?

Christie: It's still pretty warm around here, so I don't want to pull out the
heavy winter stuff yet!

Christie: I'm sorry for making you worry!

The TRUE story:
For anyone wondering, I recently moved offices... and I had packed Christie up
in one of the boxes (since she usually sat on my desk)...
and for the life of me...
I can't find her.
There are several unpacked boxes still (that will remain that way for some time)
so until I dig her out, she'll be trying out her other looks, LOL.
Poor Christie -_-;;

Taking part in some November Fun!

I'm sure you've all heard of NaNoWriMo...
but have you heard of SkADaMo and PiBoIdMo?
I'll be participating in all three over on my
blog (where I post crafts and such)
(don't worry, I won't be drowning you guys with this stuff...
but I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone was interested in trying it themselves!)

SkADaMo is "Sketch A Day Month" put on by Sketched Out.
No pressure, no rules (other than you should try to make a sketch a day)
and no pre-made themes. Just doodle!
You can also follow Sketched Out's blog to see what she doodles every day!
Want to join in?
Click on the "Sketched Out" link above,
or the button below to find out how:
Next up is PiBoIdMo,
or "Picture Book Idea Month"
Every day your task is to come up with a new picture book idea.
It doesn't have to be a full story... it can just be a title, or character name,
or anything simple that could *BE* a story someday.
Every day on Tara's blog, there will also be an awesome guest post by someone
in the Children's book/publishing industry.
How cool is that?
If you're interested in participating,
signups are open until Nov. 7th,
just click the link to Tara's blog above,
or the image below:
Finally, there is NaNoWriMo,
National Novel Writing Month.
If you're unfamiliar with NaNoWriMo,
it's a way to encourage budding (and in full bloom) writers to write,
by setting goals for the month of November.
If you're interested in joining in, click the link above,
or the image below:
It looks like I've got a busy month ahead of me!!!

A Giveaway and some help for a friend

Good Morning, everyone!

First up...
I have been following these kitties for quite a while:

And recently, poor Ginko has developed seizures and needs rather pricey medicine
to help keep them at bay.

Having had a dog with severe seizures,
this is a matter close to my heart...
nevermind that I LOVE reading about these kitties on the internet!
They have their own website HERE!

Also nevermind that their owner, Chun (aka Puppy52)
is one of the sweetest folks you'll ever come across.

ANYWAYS, to help gain some funds for Ginko's pricey meds,
Chun has created this lovely illustration of Yoshi
that you can buy through Zazzle on things like shirts and bags.

You can also opt for the "Photo-quality Yoshi"
LOL... aka, a photo of him...

A brother has to do his part to help his sister out!

I opted for the illustration...
because I believe in the cause
(100% of the proceeds go to Ginko's meds)
but also because... look at it!
It's a lovely illustration!!!
You can have a kick ass, cute as heck bag
(which you'll love even more if you check out Ginko & Yoshi's blog)
AND you'll be helping a kitty out!

Next up is a giveaway that I thought might interest you... it's an "our scale"
decorative item from the very talented Mijbil Creatures.

If you've never checked out Mijbil Creatures...
Such cute stuff :)

You have a chance to win this tiny squirrel, and it's box of tasty macaroons!
for a tutorial on how to make your own squirrel!!

The giveaway ends when there is a random drawing at the beginning of November!

Tiny Hats... a preview

Ms. Veronique has been kind enough to model today:

Veronique: You're such a poor stylist, Heather. Why in the world am I wearing a winter hat and scarf with lingerie? Do you think you're going to set some sort of amazing new fashion trend? Sheesh.

Veronique: Oh well... I can make anything work...
*EXCEPT* these irises... why haven't you repainted mine to look good too????

Friday Favorites #19

Sorry guys!
I was out of town
getting my car fixed
(the radiator split in half 0_0)
and I set up my "auto post" wrong!!

So here we go!
On with the Halloween themed suggestions!

1. Maybe you gals are thinking of throwing a Halloween Party?
jessieraye's Pumpkin cupcakes would be just perfect!

2. Nothing like this bowl of slimy slugs from Pixie Dust Miniatures
to add some ooze to the holiday!

3. Now that you've got all those slugs... what to do with them... what to do...
why not make something delicious with Pixie Dust Miniatures cookbook of bug recipes.
I'm sure there's a great slug recipe in there somewhere!

4. Of course... to properly prepare slugs, you'll need dpaone's cutting board!

5. Finally, what better way to present those baked slugs, than in a jack o' lantern basket you make yourself? Pixie Dust Miniatures is selling the pdf tutorial :)

Friday Favorites #18

Sorry for the hiatus, guys!

We're back in full swing now, though!
... and boy do I have some fun things planned :)

As you might imagine... October favorites might be a little... macabre, hehehe!

1. Check out these tiny snails by 64tnt... slimy AND awesome!

 2. And of course, if you've got all those snails, you will need this cookbook by Pixie Dust Miniatures:

3. These mushrooms, also by 64tnt, are so beautiful... I'll bet even Nikki would go out into the forest to hunt for these!

4. Speaking of Mushrooms, BlissBJD makes lovely ones... that I think would make great home decorations! (even if they are meant to sprout out of someone's head, hehe)

That's it for this week's spooky rendition of Friday Favorites.
See ya next week!

Really, Government... REALLY?

I can't help but be REALLY frustrated with all of this. Our politicians come across as a bunch of whiny toddlers in need of a nap.
